Emergency drought and famine in Somalia
The intervention is located in the Galgadud region, in the districts of Dhusmareb, Adado, Gadon and Maregur which are more than 500 km north-west of Mogadishu, where about 2700 families have been identified with urgent need of help.
The region appears to be the territory of Somalia particularly drought due to the lack of rainfall and lack of water infrastructure. The intervention is based on the initiative carried out last April supported by A school for life in close collaboration with the partner association Madina Warsame in the Lower Shabelle region in the villages of Harare and Bananey where we distributed food for about 400 families and the initiative last June in Mogadishu with the delivery of food purchase vouchers for about 100 families, incurring costs for 20,000 € intervention that the Association "Una Scuola per la Vita" implemented thanks to the help of the Province of Trento, it concerns the population that is established in an area particularly affected by drought and famine and not reachable by government aid, the Galgadud region which is more than 500 km north-west of Mogadishu, where about 650 families are located in the Dhusmareb districts , of Gadon about 700 families, of Marergur about 700 families and of Adado about 650 families for a total of 2700.
