Nursery School
Nothing is impossible to achieve if you have the determination and are willing to work hard. In 2004, near Madiina Warsame Primary School, a nursery school was created in Hamar gedit to host 30 younger children of the neighborhood for the first phase.Since this school has been prepared for the children of pre-school age, they learn; writing, reading, spelling, counting, drawing and playing.
Although the school has no play-ground outside, it has a sufficient space and equipments such as: swings, slides, a balance bar or seesaw.
So the children are able to play most of their free time.
The aim of this project is two-fold: a) providing a place of pre-school education, where children can continue to be children, upbringing their humanity and social relations in a playful and joyful situation. b) Giving an opportunity for many girls and boys to attend school who are now forced to leave the education and stay at home to look after his/her little brothers or sisters in the absence of their parents.
In the picture you see the children eating breakfast which consists of a piece of bread and a glass of milk.
In 2004, the cost of breakfast was provided by the solidarity of our friends of the Institute of Comprehensive Tavagnacco (UD) who had agreed to contribute to our project. Teacher Anita acted on the initiative and the class representative Natalia. Our children are also lucky because from December 1, 2004 canteen had been started to provide them a meal every day, thanks to the ASSOCIATION CARITRO FOR SOLIDARITY ONLUS that had allocated the necessary resources for our children until 2007.
