Some of Madina Warsame secondary students return to sewing lessons in the afternoon.
They come to a sewing room which has been set up in the school where they begin an apprenticeship.
At first they learn how to use a sewing-machine, and how to sew pockets and hems of the dresses or suits.
Then with the advice of already-experienced tailor, they learn how to cut out clothes and measure people for their dresses or suits.
These students are very happy to attend sewing classes, because they want to learn a trade which will allow them to care for their families and to guarantee them a good future.
At Madina Warsame schools all essentials are prepared for the students such as; school uniforms, text books, exercise books and sportswear.
For instance, at beginning of every school year, a great number school uniforms are sewn in Madina Warsame operational centre by well-experienced tailors and their trained students.
These school uniforms are distributed to the students at Madina Warsame primary school whose parents are very poor and not able to buy school uniform for their children.
Students are only encouraged to study to get better life for the future.
“School uniform is real material for study because it is what the students with the school uniform differ from those who do not go to school”, said a teacher at Madina Warsame school.
