Distribution of Humanitarian Aid 2012
Humanitarian Emergency for Galgaduud Region of the central Somalia in the year of 2012Madina Warsame Development organization that works in Somalia with projects of education and vocational training has also chosen to act in front of the dramatic situation of Somali people, organizing a humanitarian emergency in the year 2012.
District of Adado lives of about 15,000 inhabitants, with a virtually autonomous administration Efficient and very well organized.
1- 03/04/2012, We met the local authorities where we received a warm welcome, the same day we requested and obtained permission to distribute the food with help from the same local authority.
With the help of the Administration of this district, we planned the Census of very poor Population especially the orphans, war invalids, Elders etc.
We sold the food to be distributed by the merchants and we put the food collected in a distribution Warehouse and asking the authority to select the neediest persons and preserve the food in the Warehouse.
2 – The date of 04/02/2012 we went to Gadon district, Marergur district and the village of Beer Abdi farah and we planned the same successful system of Adado.
3 - The date of 05/02/2012 we have completed the site inspection districts, and we returned Adado district to distribute the food to the population.
In the district of Adado we distributed 600 quintals of Rice, and 255 of flour to 3500 families (enough food for 20 days).
4- The date of 06/02/2012 we distributed the food of the Gadon the same formula of Adado, unfortunately our camera does not work well and we have not found another camera.
In the district of Gadon we distributed 300 quintals of Rice, and 255 of flour to 3500 families (enough food for 15 days).
5- The date of 07/02/2012 we distributed the food Mareergur the same formula of Gadon.
In the district of Mareergur we distributed 300 quintals of Rice, and 150 of flour to 2500 families (enough food for 15 days).
6- The date of 08/02/2012 we distributed the food Beer Abdi Farah the same formula of Mareergur.
In the district of Beer Abdi Farah we distributed 130 quintals of Rice, and 130 of flour to 2000 families (enough food for 13 days).
Total money spent is $ 120,000 and benefited 11,500 families; each family consists of a minimum of 10 persons. These families can have food self-sufficiency for 13 - 20 days
